$22.79 Hourly $47,403.20 Annually Closing Date: 4/18/2024 The City Of Greenville's Neighborhood & Business Services Department Is Currently Seeking A Lead Code Enforcement Officer. This Position Is Responsible For Performing Inspection Work In The Enforcement Of The City Code In Areas Of Minimum Housing, Public Nuisance, Abandoned/nuisance/junk Vehicle Abatement, As Well As Assisting In The Supervision Of Code Enforcement Division Operations. As A Lead Worker, Reporting To The Code Enforcement Supervisor, This Position Will Perform The Same Work As Code Enforcement Officers, As Well As Overseeing Work Quality, Training, Instructing, And Scheduling Work Of Code Enforcement Officers. The Position Requires A Lot Of Community Outreach, Working With Neighborhood Groups And Other Organizations To Create Neighborhood Improvement Plans, Advocating For Assigned Districts, And Working Actively To Improve The Quality Of Life In Neighborhoods. Education And Experience: High School Diploma Or GED, Supplemented By Technical Courses Or College Course Work In Building Construction Technology, Planning, Public Administration, Paralegal Studies, Or A Related Field; And Minimum Of 3 Or More Years Of Progressive Responsibility In Code Enforcement Or Related Field; Experience In Inspecting, Interpreting, And Enforcing Code Ordinances, Investigating Code Violations, Conducting Extensive Title Searches, Or Related Experience. Special Requirements Must Possess And Maintain A Valid, Current North Carolina Driver's License That Is Not Revoked, Suspended, Or Subject To Limited Restoration Or Conditional Operation Privileges; Must Have And Maintain An Acceptable Driving Record; May Require Occasional Weekend And Evening Work. Work In A Variety Of Weather Conditions With Exposure To The Outdoor Elements.
